About the Role
Our client, a domiciliary care provider operating across Devon, is seeking dedicated Care Assistants to join their growing care team.
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team. You will play a vital role in delivering safe, person-centred care and support to service users, including older adults, people with dementia, and individuals with learning disabilities or complex needs. You will help service users maintain their dignity, independence, and wellbeing, supporting them both at home and in their community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and continence support
- Assist with meals, nutrition, hydration, and feeding where required
- Offer companionship, meaningful activities, and emotional support
- Encourage independence with daily living tasks such as shopping, finances, and household activities
- Monitor health indicators (e.g. temperature, pulse, respiration) and record accurately
- Follow personalised care plans, respecting individual choices and preferences
- Safeguard vulnerable adults in line with company policy and CQC requirements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to professional standards
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Willingness to complete the company’s induction, knowledge and skills training, and Care Certificate
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential for community care visits)
Desirable Criteria:
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a care role (professional or personal)
- Knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and care legislation
- IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office and/or electronic care systems
