Registered Manager
About the Role
Our client is establishing a high-quality children’s home in Whitchurch, Shropshire, providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Their vision is to empower young people to thrive, develop life skills, and achieve their full potential in a homely, child-centred setting.
Our client is seeking an experienced and inspirational Registered Manager to lead their children’s home. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new provision and play a pivotal role in achieving and maintaining an Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding.
As the Registered Manager, you will:
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a dedicated staff team to deliver outstanding care.
- Ensure all safeguarding practices are robust and consistently applied.
- Promote a positive, stable, and nurturing environment for children and young people.
- Work closely with placing authorities, social workers, families, and other stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes.
- Be accountable for the home’s budget, resources, and regulatory requirements.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
To be considered, you will need:
- Integrity, good character, and a child-focused approach.
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or a recognised equivalent qualification (or be working towards completion by the required date).
- At least 2 years’ recent experience (within the last 5 years) in a role relevant to the residential care of children.
- At least 1 year’s experience supervising and managing staff in a care setting.
- Physical and mental fitness to manage a children’s home.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted inspection frameworks, and the Children’s Homes Regulations.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop staff teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- UK driving licence – preferred

What We Offer
